I know, long time no see.

Between repeated computer problems (short version: Geek Squad sucks) and real-life events (short version: graduated, bought a house, getting married next month), I haven't really had time to worry about deviantART. I have a ton of new images I haven't submitted here, but….

I'm starting my own website. Maybe because I'm insane, maybe because I'm okay with being poor, but I'm actually going to try becoming a professional illustrator. So I need my own .com because a deviantART account isn't the most professional looking thing in the world. I'm hoping to get one up-and-running by the end of the month.

I'll post more updates later as I have them. I'll also keep the images I have here on deviantART because some people have ed them and, well, I'd feel bad taking them down.

My old laptop has also died. Don’t ask, I don’t even know, it was just freakishly old and had it coming. (Yeah, one of those years so far.)
I don't know when I'll update this, but I get my laptop back in a week if Best Buy keeps its word. If it helps any, I'll finish a drawing a week in Illustration VI so I should have plenty to add this semester.

UPDATE: I have my laptop back again. I had random problems with it since then, like an inability to put a password on it and how my printer/scanner refused to work with it, but most of those have been solved or worked around.

My laptop is getting a shiny new motherboard so I'm using Li's laptop for the time being. I expect to need my old laptop, the one my mom currently uses, once I go back to school. I tried using that one first, before Li offered to share hers, and I quickly remembered all the reasons why I got a new one in the first place: the touchpad buttons don't work, something is wrong with the sound card (the left speaker or headphone rarely works), I'll need to install a lot of programs to make it useable  . . . It's good enough for my mom, who only uses it to check her mail and minor stuff like that. I'd need it for a week if I get my laptop back on time – so I'll manage. Not like I'll have too much homework due in the first week of classes, right?
. . . And I still need to get a new printer/scanner because mine died during the last week of classes (the week before finals), which was part of a whole series of random problems around that time.
So, yeah . . . I won't get much art done or worked on for two-ish weeks, at least nothing finished or good enough that I'd want to show it to other people. Li's laptop is dedicated to keeping track of grades (she's teaching four 9th grade classes right now) and playing the Sims 2, not art, but it's good enough for typing on.

I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday. Except for the fact I'm living on oatmeal, mashed potatoes and soup for a week-and-a-half, I feel surprisingly okay.  I expected this to suck a whole lot more – killer headaches and whatnot – so I'm not complaining.

I've had a lot of family problems since the last time I logged in (29w 1d 7h 19s) that were a lot more important than updating my deviantART page. I barely had time for schoolwork during the last semester as it was. I don't want to get into details, but my family has pretty much imploded. The only thing keeping me sane some days is knowing that I'm marrying Li, my girlfriend of seven-and-a-half years, in August. I really need to get away from all of this and I'm so glad to have her.

I'll eventually get around to thanking the people who favorited my art while I was gone. Then I'll get around to looking at the art from everyone on my watch list. Then I'll photograph and scan more stuff I made from last semester . . .

Okay, just started going through the massive amount of messages . . .
And apparently a large number of them involve lesbians, mostly about lesbian porn.
And people thinking Obi-Wan is a prick.
So, according to this feedback, I need to make an on-going, anti-Obi-Wan lesban porn comic. I should get a daily deviation within a week.

I helped Li move into her new apartment about two weeks ago and she finally has internet access again. I'll be living with her for the summer like I did last year.

It was a pain moving stuff from one second floor apartment to another second floor apartment. The old one had stairs out back and it intermittently rained for a few days. The new one has stairs inside, but it's like an old tenement house and the winding stairs are about a foot too narrow to be practical. We managed to get a couch, easy chair and bed up here somehow. We abandoned her old desk at her last apartment on trash night. It was about twice the width of the stairs and there was no way we were getting that inside.

I still have some stuff I need to photograph or scan, but we don't have room to put her printer/scanner just yet. Again, she has no desk. The old apartment had a lot of built-in stuff like drawers in the walls so we need to get her new furniture.
